Story behind a wonderful song
Were just flipping through all the songs collected in my pc earlier.. Suddenly, I came to this song - Terlalu Istimewa by Adibah Noor. Remembering that it was my brother, David who introduced this song to me some times last year and I was and am truly in love with this song ever since then. Everytime I listen to this song, I will have one kind of feeling which drills in my heart and touches it.. I was once told by who-so-ever that there’s a story behind this song that this song was actually written for a young girl who had passed away 3 to 4 years ago. Here I am to share a lil’ bout the real story behind of the song:
There was a 10years old girl named Nurul Huda Abdul Ghani who was raped and killed years ago in JB, it was a shocking news that shook Malaysia sometimes ago. The singer Adibah Noor was too shocked by the hitting news that she expressed and shared her feeling to the composer, Azlan Abu Hasan, telling him that she wants to compose a song in rememberance to the poor and unlucky little girl. From there, here’s comes the song "Terlalu Istimewa" . The song’s lyric was written by the singer herself and was composed by Azlan Abu Hassan.
About the dedicated singer:
The singer, Adibah Noor herself spent out RM130,000 to produce her own album 3 years ago as NO ONE were willing to help in producing and releasing an album for her due to her big body size and she was asked to go on diet programme before they channel helps in bringing the album to a success. Finally, she decided that it’s better to do it herself than to keep on asking helps from the other music companies that emphasize on singer’s outlook. So, she took out RM130,000 on her own to accomplish this very warm-heart dream. And there comes the album and the songs that we’re currently listening to and having. However, all the tough experiences and hardworks by the Adibah Noor were well paid-off when she got the award of winning the best song and the best vocal of the year during the Anugerah Juara Lagu 2007. I believe her case proved to the community that it wasn’t the talents, outlook nor the nice music that has brought that very song to a success, but it was about the heart that’s willing to pour out love and symphaty that comes from the bottom of her heart. Of course that the brutality of the tragedy can never be erased but at least in that very one night, it makes Nurul Huda Abd Ghani, the deceased meant more than a forgotten tragedy. The song proves her existence and that alone should bring you a smile or even through the tears. It does kept me thinking for a moment. Hardworks did paid off isnt it??
I too, read from somebody else’s blog saying that the blogger was told by her friend that the brother of the victim became a lil’ mentally sick due to his resistance in accepting his sister’s tragedy death. He couldnt believed the fact that his sister was treated with sucha cruel and ugly deeds by the human being. I believe it was a difficult situation for the deceased’s family member. Let’s work hard together to fight against brutalities and crimes in this country~!!
